The Kiwanis Club of Tellico Plains will host the 47th Annual Christmas Parade, Saturday, December 17th at 3:00 p.m. Todd Howell, Chief Meteorologist for WBIR-TV in Knoxville, will lead the parade and serve as Grand Marshal! New this year will be the Cookies N Claus Hospitality after the parade to provide kids an opportunity for a photo-op with Santa, decorated for Christmas barrel train rides, delicious cookies, and coffee or hot chocolate to warm everyone up.
1st, 2nd, and 3rd.prizes ($200, $100, & $50) will be awarded for the Best Floats and a $50 award will be given for the “Best Decorated Horse.” Line up for the parade begins at 1:30 p.m. in the parking lot at Myers Funeral Home excluding the horses and wagons. The horses and wagons will gather on School House Hill where the old school sat. The best decorated horse will be judged at the old school location at 1:30 p.m.
Participants planning to participate in the parade, please fill out the registration form available on the Tellico Plains Kiwanis Facebook page or at City Hall. Return the forms to Tellicafe, City Hall, or Kent Mathews at Dickey McCay Insurance office in Tellico Plains. Come and share in the fun and enter your church or community group, tractor, UTV, ATV, horse, or wagon in the parade!. Emergency vehicles are encouraged to participate, but do not need to fill out a form.
